What is CuraDAI, and why do you need to know about it?

CuraDai (CURA) is a digital community currency developed for seamless payments and ease of use for the Curaçao market.

You can make payments within seconds with just three taps on your phone screen. You can pay any user around the world that has an account. This means that you can send 10 CuraDAI from the Netherlands at 10 PM to your cousin in Curaçao, and they will receive it instantly. Without additional costs.

The CuraDAI is pegged to the DAI, a stable coin that doesn't change in value, that has the same value as a Dollar. 1 DAI equals 1.79 CuraDAI. Meaning that 1 CuraDAI is worth 1 Guilder, and it doesn’t change in value.

You can carry your CuraDAI anywhere you go, as you carry it in a digital wallet on your phone or on multiple devices. All you need to do is download the app and the personal password you receive when registering. Your password is a 12-word seed phrase and should be protected at all times. Write it down somewhere safe and don’t ever lose it. You are the only one that has your seed phrase, so the only one that can access your CuraDAI. The app or its developers cannot access your seed phrase in any way.

How do you use CuraDAI?

You can use CuraDAI to do groceries at Esperamos Supermarket, you can get your car washed by Top Notch Car Wash or you can book a legal consultation with Prisca VA Services. More merchants are signing up every day. To pay with CuraDAI at any of the registered merchants, go to their place of business or make an appointment, and follow one of the easy payment methods below.

How to pay with CuraDAI

There are three easy ways to make payments with CuraDAI:

Option 1

SEND CuraDAI

1. Open the CuraDAI app.
2. Tap Send.
3. Type the name of the person you want to send CuraDAI to.
4. Enter the amount of CuraDAI and tap Continue with .. CURA.
5. Tap Send.
   
   

Option 2

SEND CuraDAI

1. Open the CuraDAI app.
2. Tap Send.
3. Tap the round QR code button top right of your screen.
4. Ask the other party to open the app on their phone and show you their QR code.
5. Scan the other party’s QR code with your phone.
6. Enter the amount of CuraDAI and tap Continue with .. CURA.
7. Tap Send.
   
   

Option 3

BUY with CuraDAI at a merchant/business

1. Open the CuraDAI app.
2. Tap Buy in the bottom bar, third icon from the left.
3. Choose the merchant and tap PAY.
4. Enter the amount of CuraDAI and tap Continue with .. CURA.
5. Tap Send.

How to receive payments with CuraDAI:

If someone doesn’t have your wallet address there are two options, let’s walk through your options:

Option 1 

1. Open the CuraDAI app.
2. Tap on Receive in the bottom right corner of your screen.
3. Show your QR code and let the other party scan it to make the payment.
4. Wait until the payment comes in a couple of seconds. 
5. You may need to refresh your screen or, on older phones, close and re-open the app to view your new balance. 
   
   

Option 2

1. Open the CuraDAI app.
2. Tap on Receive in the bottom right corner of your screen.
3. Copy your address beneath the QR code and send it to the other party to make the payment.
4. Wait until the payment comes in within seconds. 
5. You may need to refresh your screen or, on older phones, close and re-open the app to view your new balance. 
   

How do you keep your CuraDAI safe?

No one can access your CuraDAI wallet without your 12-word password, what is called the seed phrase, you receive when you install the CuraDAI app. So only you can keep it safe.

Important to keep in mind, as with any other digital wallet, if you lose your seed phrase, and you lose access to your wallet, you lose your CuraDAI. There is no customer service that can recover your seed phrase or restore access to your wallet for you. You are completely responsible and fully in control of what happens with your CuraDAI at all times.
